Library and Bibliographic Collection
UFSC maintains a Central Library with 9,134m2 and seven Sector, with access to a computerized system for users. Through resources from CAPES and CNPq, the Program has renewed and expanded the subscription of national and international journals, as well as acquired nursing books and areas of interest to the Program, in addition to access to CAPES journals and other international bases, thus seeking to offer the faculty and students a significant and updated collection. Other collections of related areas are available, thanks to the general resources allocated in the Central Library, as well as from other Graduate courses at UFSC.
The UFSC Library has the largest and best collection in the State of SC, one of the best in the country and is available without access restrictions. Fully computerized through microisis software (books, video tapes and theses) that allows the search in terminals connected to the local network and internet, facilitating the search of materials by author, title, subject. The classification system used is the CDD – Dewey Decimal Classification, and the cataloging is referenced based on NBR 6023 (ABNT). With an automated service system, the library plays a major role in supporting teaching and research, in addition to keeping doors open to the community, collaborating with the extension process.
